After graduation I attended the Draper Corporation
Apprentice School but left in December to join the US Navy in January
1952. I spent part of my time with the United States European Command
in Paris and later with the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon.
After discharge in 1957 I earned a BS degree at Northeastern University
and subsequently worked for several companies in Massachusetts.
Five others and I formed our own company, Anacon, Inc. (for "analytical
controls"), and I ended up as International Manager. Later I joined
Foxboro, Inc., until retirement.
We have lived in Bellingham, Ashland, Framingham, Houston, and Atlanta,
and we moved to Jacksonville after retirement. I was ordained as
a deacon in the Catholic Church in June 1989 and have performed
many services, including preaching, witnessing marriages, counseling,
baptizing, and working with divorced Catholics wanting annulments.
We recently moved to St Augustine where we are closer to our family.
I am a facilities engineer for the church, working with the contractor
and engineering firm to build a new church, the San Juan del Rio
Catholic Church, in Jacksonville, in order to increase our capacity
from 430 to 1400. It is keeping me busier than when I was a full-time
engineer.
