Richard Bodreau
Class of 1968

Greetings...

Just a little about me for those who may be interested. My family moved to Hopedale when I was four years old. I started school at Memorial. I also attended Dutcher Street and then on to Hopedale Jr Sr High.
My Dad worked in the foundry a Draper Corp for many years. After several years of family problems I dropped out of school in 1966 to get a job and help my family make ends meet. Mom and dad were divorced at that time.
I still kick myself for doing this.

I moved from Hopedale to Boston in 1969 and finished high school in Boston on a GED program. After many college business type classes I became a salesperson for an automotive paint supply company. I have had many sales and management classes. It took many years to get myself to the six-figure income level. It would have been a whole lot easier if I had a degree. Let me tell you. I have been in the automotive Paint supply business since 1970. I am now a Regional Sales Manager for a Dutch based global chemical company called Akzo Nobel. I supply Auto Paint and supplies to bodyshops in Oregon and Washington.

I married a girl named Sheri from Boston in 1970 during my hippie and protesting days. We did not have children. We moved to Salem Oregon in 1977 and were divorced in 1981.
I was re-married to a gal named Whitney from Long Beach California in 1985 and we had two boys, Eric in 1988 and Charles 1993. I enjoy building computers and do software troubleshooting as my hobby. My boys and I ride dirt bikes, horses, and four wheelers
on our farm.

We have a 25-acre farm at about 2000-foot elevation overlooking Mt Hood. We grow Christmas trees and Douglas fir trees. Estacada is a little logging town in the foothills of Mt Hood. Mt Hood is an active volcano. I am PTA Secretary for Estacada Jr High and the Elementary school and a member of the Estacada school board budget committee.

Oregon is a wonderful place to live, but I miss my hometown of Hopedale and wish I were able to finish school with my childhood friends.

Kind Regards,
Richard Bodreau
