I left Hopedale the last year of high school. I finished when I moved to another town. I married too young and divorced after 20 years of marriage. I lived in Franklin, had 4 children, Donna, William, Ronald, Robert. All went to Franklin schools and graduated. Through the years I worked and visited my aunt and uncle in Hopedale quite often.
After the divorce, I moved to Maryland. I married a man from Annapolis and birthed another wonderful child, my last daughter, Paula.
Yet again, worked. Of course we can't get away from that. I waitressed for awhile, also did bartending and became a barmaid. Also, drove a school bus ( oh them days).
Eventually, I began a profession as an in-home nurse. I enjoyed this job. If I did not have health problems, I would probably still be involved in nursing.
Now, I have 4 living children, 9 grandchildren, 12 living great-grandchildren. My granddaughter, Amber had a baby who is in Heaven now. She is expecting again and we are looking forward to the new baby.
It is nice to know there are a couple of people from Hopedale living near my home.
I'm very pleased to read and see what is being done by the alumni and all of the people working so hard.
