In 1959 I became
a bride. Whoopee!!! A couple of years later, hubby and I decided to concentrate
on having children and I retired. After several surgeries, it was determined
bearing children would not be possible. Next step, adoption.
WAKE UP FOLKS. Here comes the bragging!!! My children are brilliant!!!
In 1969 son Todd came to us at the ripe old age of 11 days. He was beautiful,
but full of wrinkles. He soon grew out of the wrinkle state, and began
to look normal. Whew, was I relieved! Anyway, the kid grew up and is now
a man. Now, why would they give me a kid with a contagious wrinkle condition?
I'm getting them! I know they came from him because the second kid didn't
have any wrinkles. Todd graduated from URI with a degree in Pharmacy,
and is now living in Vermont, married to Jennifer whom I adore. He is
presently Director of Pharmacy Operations for a division of a supermarket
chain in Vermont.
In 1971 son Derrick arrived, age 5 months. Two reasons for "older" child.
First, wanted children to be close in age. Second, didn't need the 2 a.m.
feeding etc. Been there, done that, got the tee shirt! Derrick was a beautiful
child and he did not have that wrinkle disease. He resides in Seattle,
WA and is a supervisor at Affinity Publishing Co. Also, publishes his
own magazine "LITRAG" which is a literary magazine containing prose and
poetry submitted by published and non-published authors. It is definitely
for the avant garde!! These authors certainly were not taught by Miss
Holmes!!! I have been tempted to submit some of my poetry, however I hate
rejection! All of you out there in computer land can check it out at Litrag.com.
I had considered adopting girls but did not want the hassle of raising
them. You know what I mean, having to keep them in the attic until age
21. I now have a daughter, Jennifer; all grown up and I didn't have to
get any "gray hairs" nor go to jail for child abuse.
Next phase of my life: I call it Mr. Wonderful and THE BIG 'D' After 30
years of marriage to Mr. Wonderful, I became FREE AT LAST! Enough said
on that subject. Do I hear someone snoring? Hang in there people, I am
almost finished with this diatribe.
My life now (you
have permission to sleep through this portion). I live in North Attleboro,
MA. in a very nice townhouse which I rent. I am office manager/secretary
in a primary care physician's office. Have been with him for 15 years
and have turned into a workaholic. Living a very happy and peaceful life.
Love my two Siamese cats, Loki and Merlin. Anything else you want to know?
I take the 5th!!!
Of course, at this point, taking the 5th is futile since you all know
Dave, the Web Master of HHS web site. I appreciate the effort he has put
forth to produce an excellent site for all to enjoy.
I suppose I would be remiss if I didn't mention a few memories of years
at Hopedale High. So, here goes: Parties, Clark Tourney, Parties, Newspaper
drives, parties, field hockey, parties. Did I mention parties? I can still
recall my parents literally removing carpeting in the living room and
dining room to enable us to dance when we had THE PARTIES!!
Mom just had her 84th birthday in February and is doing well. She sends
a big Hello to all.
